Fun in the sun: Andriy and Yulia share a hug (left) and contemplate playing some football of a rather different variety to that the striker is used to at Anfield (right)
His Liverpool team-mates toiled to beat Aston Villa in the Birmingham snow last night, but yesterday Andriy Voronin lapped up the sun on Miami Beach with his glamorous wife, Yulia.
Sportsmail understands the Ukraine striker has been allowed a few days off before he is due to return to Anfield for talks over his future at the club, with a view to a possible move in the January transfer window.
Voronin was not included in the Reds' squad for the crunch clash at Villa Park and has not featured for Rafa Benitez's side since the 1-1 draw with Lyon in the Champions League on November 4, a game in which he missed several gilt-edged chances to score.
The 30-year-old forward has played just 12 times for his club so far this season and has said that he wants to feature more for Liverpool.
But he was farmed out on loan to Hertha Berlin last season as he found himself behind Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Ryan Babel and David Ngog in the Anfield strikers' pecking order.
Voronin was a success in the Bundesliga but the German side could not afford to make the Ukrainian's move a permanent one, leaving him to return to Anfield where he has again found his chances limited.
Indeed, Voronin now appears to be behind even youngsters Nabir El Zahr and Dani Pacheco in the competition for first-team places, while rumours abound that Benitez is ready to swoop for Real Madrid front-man Ruud van Nistelrooy.
And it appeared that Voronin was a long way from a return to action as he enjoyed the sun, sand and sea in Florida, accompanied by his wife Yulia.
Once described as the worst-dressed WAG in football, Yulia gave no opportunity to have that accusation repeated as she paraded around in a red bikini.
So at least one member of the Voronin family was wearing red yesterday.

wtf
the wife like his football skill.
cmi
Why is the rest of the team fighting and struggling and he is enjoying himself on the other side of the world?
that doesnt matter.
i dont see them as a part of liverpool at all.
and seriously, the wife ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
i dont really bother about what players like him do when they cant do shit to help us.
we've lots of them in the squad. if this fellow can bring a few along when he does this next time, that's good, really good.
he should rather use this time to beef up his skills in order to keep his place in Pool
no point talking about bucking up or what so ever, he's already 29 or 30.
dont even think about 'potential'
i just cant be bothered about this fellow
he can prolly retire happily

Wah... another one of the 'old timers'... What are the odds of seeing two old timers suddenly appear in one post after the next...
But it hasn't been a good week for Villa yeah...
Better luck next week with Wigan...
it's just a week not like for some it's been a season...

The man needs his holiday to recharged his batteries... Maybe he runs on solar energy, So the cold raining winter at Anfield isn't his cup of tea...

But he does not look too bothered as these pictures show - and who can blame him!
While his Kop team-mates shiver in the cold, Voronin is on a sunshine break in Miami Beach with wife Yulia.
The Ukraine striker, who spent last season on loan at the German club, is in advanced talks with Hertha.
Voronin scored 11 goals for Berlin to help them finish fourth - he has managed just five league strikes in 27 Kop outings.
Hertha, fighting to avoid the drop this season, wanted him last summer but failed to agree a fee with Liverpool.
Italian Andrea Dossena is also set to leave Anfield with Napoli the likely destination despite Atletico Madrid's interest.
The left-back, 28, joined Liverpool for £7m from Udinese and has made just 22 starts in 18 months ago.
huh? voronin a flop?
is he even good in the first place?
from the look of his face, i knew he was useless.
Well, he did good enough in Germany i guess... He even scored more than Miroslav Klose in the German Bundesliga last season... And Klose is like the Germany no.1 striker kind... lol.
Just don't seem to be able to do it under Rafa... Anoter one gone to waste...
On another note... He changed his pants, and his wife changed her swimsuit and sunglasses from the one the day before... lol
