Bolton are a step closer to landing Real Madrid midfielder Guti after he rejected a move to Turkish club Besiktas.
Trotters boss Gary Megson is keen on having the 33-year old Spaniard on loan for the rest of the season and has called on former Bolton stars Ivan Camp and Fernando Hierro (both formerly of Real) to recommend the club.
Guti recently had a row with Real boss Manuel Pellegrini and is keen to find a new club as the Trotters hold hope of landing what would be a major coup.
Guti has served his entire career at Real Madrid but these recent events could see him move on for the first time in a lengthy stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.
