Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that goalkeeper Shay Given is one of the five best keepers in the world.
Martin
Petrov and Carlos Tevez produced the firepower up front to hand
'Mancio' his first victory on his managerial debut in England against
Stoke City, but not before Given was forced to make a couple of great
saves and consequently keep a clean sheet.
"Shay is among the top five keepers in the world," Mancini is quoted by The Press Association as saying.
"You
have Buffon, [Petr] Cech and a couple of others but Shay is right up
there. Against Stoke he made saves in one or two situations that were
absolutely crucial."
Following the victory over the Potters, Manchester City take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Monday.
a pity Given isnt english. if Given is english, then england got a chance to win world cup liao lol.
The top 5 keepers still playing are Buffon, Cech, Casillas, Julio Cesar, Van Der Sar in my opinion. Given is still good but I believe he is different from before now. A few years back and he would be on my list.
given is definitely top class.
you have to consider the defenders playing alongside the goalies. some goalies let in less goals because they have good defenders covering them.
given, friedel are world class standards..
i wouldnt bet agaisnt that...
