Aaron Hughes last night promised the Fulham fans Roy Hodgson’s side would give everything to extend Chelsea’s bleak midwinter in today’s West London derby showdown.
While the Cottagers are flying, after a six-game unbeaten streak, they head down the Fulham Road to Stamford Bridge intent on really piling the pressure on Carlo Ancelotti.
And Hughes vowed: “We’ve got a bit of confidence, are unbeaten in a few games, and will go there to try to play our football, try to defend well and create chances as we have been doing.
“Any team going to Stamford Bridge has a difficult task, but we’ll try and play our football and see what happens.
“We’ll attack within reason. If you go there and try to defend for 90 minutes, you can’t do it. They’ll overrun you in the end.
“You’ve got to go and try to play your own football, always cautious that they’ve got a lot of threats in the side, a lot of ability to break you down. You try to take your chances when they come along.”
Irish international Hughes may have to shoulder extra responsibility with knee victim Brede Hangeland a doubt and young Chris Smalling on standby to make his Premier League bow against a Chelsea side bolstered by the news that Didier Drogba is available after all.
Hughes added: “We know they’ve got threats from all over. Their full-backs go further upfield than their wingers sometimes and pop up with goals.
“But if we can get the ball down and play our football, we’re confident we can cause them problems.
“We’re playing good football. Our shape’s good, our discipline’s good. We’re solid, and Bobby Zamora’s been fantastic for us in the last few games.
“If you give him decent delivery and service, we know he’ll be a handful. He’s bringing guys into play, holding it up for us and the runs off him have been good. But you have to keep working hard to keep that happening.”
I think Chelsea is also waiting to fire up their winless streak, so let see...go buy chelsea 3-0
to fire up a winless streak, you have to start by not winning.

Is Drogba playing tonight or have he left for the african nations cup already? I think chelsea should win tonight, but I hope I am wrong haha.

No Hangeland... His replacement a player call Smalling who have not played premier league football yet only cup matches... Fulham gone case...
FULHAM SCORES!!
wtf fulham socred in 4 mins?
chelsea now is cmi. stamford bridge leak goals non stop. last time still say is impregnable.. probably because of luck
looks like ancelotti is no better than the previous managers
double post
Aiya, Chelsea will come back... Cos Fulham's goal came too early... If they score in the 88 or 89 mins then better chance of getting a win... now still have more than 80 mins to play... Sure equalize and probably take the lead as well...
I hope drogba and lampard fired blanks and the fulham goalie ended up as man of the match. I can smell an upset already, even if its a draw, 2 points dropped at home.
Wah... That Smalling not good enough leh... He completely miss the header and the ball went straight to Drogba... They cannot hold out for long lah...
drogba either plays very well or very atrocious. i think tonight is again the latter.
without him at his best chelsea is more or less toothless
focus on diamond yet cant even hold midfield. and they like always run out of ideas on how to attack
wah so long no see Ferreira play liao, thought he was still injured. he like disappear for 2 years liao or something. wah ancelotti tinkers his team.
and how come i wnat to subscribe football channel starhub '24 hr customer service' hotline 1633 is not 24 hour anymore?
like that cannot subscribe. they dont want income their loss... i watch lousy quality online for free
choosing between singtel and starhub is like the lesser of two evils
Refs really give a hard time to Chelsea players. Always purposely give bad calls to ball away fr them.
Even Fulham goal, ref also got a hand in it.
Looks like refs is thinking for a certain Manchester team........
Now we know where all the ManU refs are.
For a min, i tok refs deserted ManU, but acually they at every Chelsea match to make sure The Blues lose/draw wif every opponent so ManU can catch up
chelsea must wake up..
they have no idea how to penetrate fulham defence. chelsea attack is too predictable. long ball or cross to drogba to finish off. who dont know.
once in a while lampard or somebody will try dribble thru and pass into goal arse style. if not is set piece free kick.
need to be more like man utd. more mobile and counter attack fast and push up harder
chelsea dominate this game, but just cant get anything in, yet.
wah, im really impressed with mr mark's performance in recent games.
play like a world class goalie
am i seeing things wrong? what is Ferreira doing on the pitch? isnt he suppose to be injured?
fulham doing great now defensively, forcing chelsea to take only shots from outside the box.
but it just take one mistake for them to concede a goal.
mr bobby is very furious with the man in charge.
he felt that a few foul calls he had should stand
