  Manchester United have launched a bid for Benfica wing ace Angel Di Maria.

  The Daily Mail says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has kicked off the January transfer-window action by bidding for Benfica winger Angel Di Maria.

  Ferguson has reacted to Manchester United's stuttering defence of their title by offering £9million plus Nani for the 21-year-old Argentina international.

  The United manager witnessed Di Maria's scintillating form at first hand when he was at Goodison Park for the second leg of Benfica's Europa League rout of Everton recently.

  If he trade Nani then its one for one lor... I read this Angel Di Maria a number of clubs want him as well... So I think no chance.

  i think you meant City and Chelsea right... United like Pool, won't have much $ to spend... Ok lah, maybe better than Pool but only by a bit i feel... cos the Ronny's cash is absorb into the club already... Now spending it is like taking out your own money... lol.

  Looks like Chelsea and City will go on a shopping spree starting next week...

  Di Maria is a natural left-footer. Plus he favours dribbling and passing rather than the fanciful stepovers and inconsistent long shots. Now this one could be a bona fide successor to Giggs' left wing. I think this would be a good deal Fergie!
