Real Madrid Plotting Raid For Everton's Jack Rodwell - Report
The Premier League starlet has caught the eye of the big-spending Spaniards...
Real Madrid have targeted Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell as their next major transfer, and will fight with Manchester United to secure his signature.
English tabloid The People claims that Los Blancos have been monitoring the 18-year old, who can also play in central defence, and are planning a summer swoop for the England under-21 international.
Toffees coach David Moyes is unlikely to encourage any offer for Rodwell, but it is believed that if the Spanish side were to make an offer in excess of £15m then the Merseyside club would be forced into negotiations.
Scouts have watched Rodwell on five separate occasions this season and have given glowing reports to coach Manuel Pellegrini, and Madrid want to make a tentative offer in the coming weeks with a view to a move after the World Cup in South Africa.
Rodwell made his Premier League debut for Everton in March 2008, and signed a 5-year contract soon after, but a move to La Liga would be an opportunity that he would be unable to turn down. -

I guess they know they could easily sell him after 1 year for anything from $6 to $10m when he is only 26 and English. But lucky he wasn't that silly lah... He rather signed for another club as a free player and get a huge salary increment for himself rather than let the Real earn the transfer fee.
