had been approached by a sale person from singtel today asking me to sign up for mio tv.
he told me that singtel is charging the same price as starhub for it's sport channels and i've to only start paying when the new season starts. installation is free for now.
he then started to 'brainwash' me to convert my broadband as well, but i've no intention at all to convert my starhub boardband to singtel's.
so before i rush into making decision can i just check with ppl who have mio tv alr, how is the service? how does the whole things work?
starhub Vs singtel in the pay-TV industry is just plain unhealthy competition
hmmph..
should i take up this offer?
you should, you can see CL also leh!
but i heard got one universal box coming out..
then how?
should i wait?
singtel got the early bird promotion thing??
their offer to me is what i wrote on top lor
starhub got basic+ sports
but singtel is only sports, so should be cheaper overall right?
singtel say im paying 26+ to starhub for sport, so they will be chargeing me the same price.
so it shouldn't be much of a problem right..
cos your paying the same amount.. just different company..
actually not much problem lar
but i was thinking whether should i allow singtel to have a share to gain from starhub's loss?
u need the singtel broadband modem, otherwise you cant tune in to miotv.
if yuo want free installation, do it now lor. if not wait till next year then sub to miotv.
the prices for now 18.95 I think if you sign up now, is valid till next year aug 2010. looks likely there will be a price increase.
yeah starhub still the best :(
means have to sign some kind of broadband plan also?
starhub programmes are nicer. if you sub for miotv now, u got to watch other channels for free for 1 month as inducements lar. miotv I only like football channels, the chinese movie channel 50 and dong fong tv ch 72. the rest dun really like.
ya no modem how to watch miotv leh
means i will be paying for more than 26 per month?
quite true.. plus gst.. guess it will kinda be the same too.
Lets see... If you are very sure you will be subscribing to mio to watch next season's EPL, then I would say to you to take the offer now. But if you are still unsure if you can go about without the epl for next year, then you can wait and see. But of course there could be a chance you will have to pay more by then... And more I mean the installation and modem charges which could come up to around $120 alone.
The bottomline here is, i don't care who earns or how they try to hard sell to me... As long as the price is the same and they don't increase it, then its ok to me... Taking up the offer now is quite a good deal I feel. Cos you get to save on the modem and installation. You also get to watch this season's CL all the way to the final. So I guess its still worth it. Had they charge for this season's, then I would still be one of those undecided ones...
For those who are still undecided, then i suggest you try if you can do without the weekly epl matches over the weekends... Maybe you try this weekend, take it that you don't have the starhub set-top at home... If you can make it, try another week. If you can do without it for 2, 3 weeks, then maybe you should not subscribe now...
On the one box for two use, i think we shouldn't think too much about it... Cos if there is one by then, chances are they might charge you a little more for it... And if they don't, the current set-top box is on a rental basis... I guess we can always return it to exchange of the other set right?
On the whole, you pay the same amount... $26.75 Just take it as you take the sum out of your Starhub bill and give it to the Singtel one lor... The one good thing about mio is, like this morning i couldn't wake up for the match in the middle of last night... I got up early around 6+ and retrieved the match... I even fast forward the starting part, half-time and some time wasting moments... In the end, I finished watching the whole match under an hour... lol
that fucktard (singtel sale promoter) told me that i will be only paying the amount im paying starhub now. which is 26+.
alright, now im confused
nabei, i shouldnt have let my father know that internet can watch soccer.
now he tells me arbo dont subscrible to singtel and starhub, watch by live streams -.-
live stream hangs xD
later a few years later HD liver streams lol
i tot they proposing this starhub that can link to mio soccer thing?
am i right to say. If now you subcribe mio u cannot watch EPL.
Onli till next season?
So you be paying 2 bills. One starhub the one Singtel
If you dont want to subscrible mio nw. You can still catch the starhub EPL till end season. And can subscribe to Mio next season with include champs league and so on. The only thing is maybe they will up the prices?
