  Spurs schemer Modric linked with swap for Man Utd’s Carrick

  Tottenham are being linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.

  The News of the World says Carrick is uncertain of his position, with old club Spurs retaining an interest in a deal involving Croatia star Luka Modric heading for Old Trafford.

  Ferguson believes England international Carrick, who has scored just once for United this season, should have more say in the centre of midfield.

  Carrick's role is just one of several vulnerable positions Ferguson has pinpointed in the team.

  i hope this is just idle talk..

  I do feel Carrick's play is under-rated, he does track back, and support the defence. let's hope this is just BS.

  I dun mind modric comes, as owen hargreaves is coming back soon in december. still got anderson not enough play time.

  carrick play as been average at best, always miss pass to opponents. I dun mind if this is true. Modric can be united play maker and if he comes, Nani days at united is numbered.

  I can't believe spurs is offering their best players to United (again!).

  Carrick is below his usual level this season. Their best player in midfield so far this season has to be Fletcher.

  well, I believe carrick is moving up, plus he added a shooting threat. let's not undermine his defensive duties which is comparable only by Fletcher.

  Owen is still a big ?? as to how long he can play. Anderson is very very wet behind the ears.

  fletcher has finally find his place, but rem, it took him a while.. given carrick irratic time on the field, it is understandable his form is compromised.

  This rumour has been going on for quite sometime already... If United can get him, I think it would be great... A perfect replacement for Scholes. 

  I find him to be one of the better play-makers not just in the EPL but in the whole of Europe as well... Moreover, he is left footed and only at 24 yrs old...

  Personally, I think he is as good as Fabregas if not better... He makes Croatia a better side when he is in the squad...

  I think if United can get him, even at $30 to $40 million he isn't expensive considering his age... United are in serious need of new creative players when Giggs and Scholes expected to leave very soon... Like I and said, he would be a perfect replacement...

  frankly I prefer modric than carrick. carrick form sucks for the last 2 seasons. he dun score that much goals and his passes have gone from bad to worse.modric is more like a play maker with his dribbles.
