UEFA have announced the seedings for the Euro 2012 qualifiers, with the
draw for the qualifying stage set to take place on February 7 next year.
Despite
missing out on Euro 2008, England remain in Pot One alongside champions
Spain and current World Cup holders Italy. Portugal and France are also
among the top seeds after scraping through their World Cup play-off
matches.
Euro 2004 champions Greece are in Pot Two alongside the
likes of the Czech Republic and Turkey, while Scotland's dismal World
Cup qualifying campaign sees them in Pot Three. Although Slovenia have
reached next year's World Cup finals at the expense of Russia, they
remain in Pot Four.
Montenegro will make their bow in the
European Championships qualifying stage, having finished fifth in their
World Cup qualifying group. Zoran Filipovic's side are among the teams
in Pot Five, with the continent's minnows in Pot Six.
