  Man Utd boss Ferguson serious about Dzeko deal

  Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko is wanted by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

  The Mail on Sunday says the only striker on his radar is Dzeko and Ferguson is ready to step up the increasingly bitter rivalry with neighbours City by entering the race for the 23-year-old Bosnia international.

  City are desperate to complete the £20million move in the window but they could lose out if Wolfsburg make them wait until the summer.

  "Sir Alex believes Dzeko has a great future in the game but circumstances prevent him doing any business until the summer," said a source. "He is watching the situation closely."

  Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he does not intend to spend big in the January transfer window.
  
  United have been linked with a handful of attacking players, including West Ham United striker Carlton Cole and VfL Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko.
  
  However, Ferguson is reluctant to pay the inflated fees that are often a characteristic of January trading, and has hinted that he is content with the current composition of his squad.
  
  "I would like to do business, but only if the prices are right - and that can be a problem in January," he told The Mail on Sunday.

  berba goes missing when up against top teams. owen shd be the first choice striker but fergie wun do that after spending so much on berba.

  owen is quite lightweight. he has lost his pace long ago and he is small size, cannot bully those central defenders. he is suited to be supersub. berbatov still has his uses, his good control, and is of a good height to challenge and make a nuisance for the defenders.

  as for Dzeko, dun think wolfsburg will sell him in January unless its for a record fee of 25-30m, which I doubt fergie will spend on him.
