given that the ref gave a penalty, and not a yellow card, it was not deemed a dive, right?
whether it was a dive or otherwise, the one that counts is the MIB la.

dont think he can be a world class diver lar. to be one, he need to drop as if it's real and at the best timing possible, most importantly, the actions has to be convincing enough.
david did not fulfill the last condition yest, his actions only managed to convince that ref, which i dont know what's he thining.

it is a fine line whether it is a penalty or not.
lee carsley did not make contact with the ball, if ngog did not jump or dive, lee carsley would have hit him in the leg. base on the speed of his tackle, i think he could probably inflict heavy injury to ngog.
so, i say, although there was no contact, but lee carsley did not make contact with the ball and contact was imminent if ngog did not jump or dive to protect himself.
i dont know what took uefa so long to implement video reply on cases like this.
football is multi milion business these days, a win, a draw, a lose match causes the clubs millions of dollars. a place in the UCL, stay in BPL.
personally, i dont blame ngog. and i am not a liverpool fans.

Defending himself from such a tackle by taking flight and a dive to win a penalty and try to get a member of the opposite team sent off is two totally different situation. And Ngog is in situation B.

its clearly a dive by ngog. carsley did not even touched him and he fell as if he was tackled. the ref was deceived by acute angle, difficult to see from that angle or his view was simply blocked.
anyway its 2 points dropped for liverpool at home. I think liverpool is in danger of not qualifying for CL next season. I think it may finish within top 6, even missing out of UEFA europa league.

Like I said, play against big teams, they play macam star. Play against smaller teams, they gabra like zebra.
It really speaks volumes of how sad they've become when they have to resort to this kind of trickery to draw against...... Birmingham.
Forget the EPL crown, and forget the Champions League. The way things are going, they'd be lucky to get the Europa League next year.
I predict Spurs or Aston Villa to take over their spot in the 'Big Four'.

The weird thing about this match is... Both Cameron Jerome and Cristian Benitez has not been able to score for Birmingham and those were their first goals for the club this season... and for Benitez, that was his first goal for Birmingham...

What an absolute disgrace David Ngog was in committing one of the most blatant dives I have ever seen.
Referee Peter Walton should have a serious look at himself as he really MUST detect such obvious simulation and punish it.
Watching the game on television I immediately called it as a dive - not being clever, just that it was so obvious.
If UEFA's experiment to introduce six referees proves successful then the additional assistant referee would have been perfectly placed to yell into his microphone and tell Walton, 'It's a dive!'
Mind you, Walton should be experienced enough to detect it without external help. Ngog should be ashamed of himself.
The question is - when will football introduce retrospective action to punish such actions?
