New tax laws to rock Spanish football to core

Spanish football faces being rocked by the abandonment of the 'Beckham tax law'.

Local government reforms to the Spanish tax system are set to include an ending of advantages for foreign players in Liga football.

The new amendment, which is before the parliament, would see the abolishment of the 24 per cent tax rate for foreign players earning €600,000 or above and bring them into line with the rest of the population which pays 43 per cent.

The Spanish PFA have threatened a strike if the amendment is passed.

Premiership clubs will be looking on with glee as threats of the UK's new tax laws pushing foreign stars towards Spain would soon die down if the Spanish ruling is passed.

haha even the spanish government is desperate for cash now. the government raise cash by either printing money, selling government bonds/debts/treasuries, or by implementing more taxes. it choses the latter.

I think their wages got include after tax. if they are earning 150k euros a week, its after tax, so this ruling wont affect them, as RM are basically paying for their taxes. if you were them, you also would include after tax wages isnt it.

this will make it even par with the UK laws, and make going to La liga a less attractive place... what's next? All stars come Sleague?? :P

what about serie a or german league? do they have this taxation as well? no lar, it means players will include after tax in their contract lor. if didnt not include after tax, that means its half their pay gone to taxes.
