rafa should not have complained of having only 20m to spend. as a coach, he should try to bring in players from the reserve & youth squad like what wenger is doing now. he should spend wisely and he would have to sell to raise more cash if the player costs more than 20m. thats the hallmark of a great coach, not just merely spend on players to win titles.

Originally posted by charleslee:yes, i agree that 20 million is ain't peanuts, but when u want to buy gd players, the clubs will inflat the price to give themselves a profit, so if they quote silva to be in 20 million, then wat u expect RB to do? bust the whole transfer budget on a single player?
I guess its one way to do it... Taking risk and coming out on top is probably what define a good manager to an average one... Fergie had only $30m to spent last season and he was willing to put all on one player, Berbatov...
Rafa hardly dare to take risk... Not only in the transfer market, in football matches as well... And like what someone here said, better to get 1 good quality player than 3, 4 average ones who probably won't make much of an impact compare to the one good player...
It's time for Rafa to go..

well, for me, he took risks in the MU game by putting a not fully fit torres, and got his rewards, but against fulham, he took a risk too, by withdrawing torres, when his team was level, hoping the rest can finish the job.
well, Fergie was fortunate he got already an excellent team so he is not strengthening but tweaking, but Rafa, seems to be forever strengthening.

"forever strengthening" <-- yes, 5 years and still strengthening the squad...
