Andrey Arshavin remains the most revealing interviewee in the Premier League.
In his most recent offering in a Russian newspaper, he said: ‘If I had a time machine I would like to go back and speak to Yuri Gagarin [Soviet astronaut and the first man in space].
‘I would be very interested in what he was thinking just before he was launched into space. I believe his thoughts would have been unprintable!’
Arshavin also complains that Arsene Wenger’s desire for players to be hungry for success is taken a bit too literally.
‘Sometimes we have dinner at 6.45pm and the next meal is only at noon the next day,’ he said.
‘So I go hungry and there are even times when I go into games hungry. I keep telling them, but nothing changes.'
