More question marks over Argentinian's future
JAVIER MASCHERANO has told Liverpool he's not interested in a new contract.
In a move which raises further doubts over the midfielder's long-term future at the club, he dismissed claims money was the root of his wish to join Barcelona last summer.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to thrash out fresh terms with the midfielder to prevent a renewed bid from the Spanish giants.
He rejected their £30m swoop after Mascherano stunned The Kop and asked to leave in June.
Anfield officials were convinced he was angling for a £90k-a-week deal, but Mascherano hit back. He said: "This is not true.
"I have never asked for a new contract. I already have a contract with Liverpool. I don't play for the money.
"I play for me and to win things. Money is not important to me.
"Obviously I will not play for free but why should I?"

in a way, if he goes, he may even bring stability back to the team, and provided the transfer fees are put back into future transfers, it is a good thing.

If he is gone, the rest of players can go too.
Then Liverpool will have lots of cash with no players and no manager.
Best scenerio for the two owners and the bank.

I think they should keep him and sell Gerrard as he is coming to 30 aready... Gerrard may have done great for Pool during his time but he don't have many good years left in him so if they get a $30m offer, I say take the money and run...

mascherano is confused. He has lost his place to lucas and he isnt really feeling great about it. Playing alongside alonso and alongside lucas are 2 different feelings and with lucas, it must have sucks alot.
Selling mascherano and hopefully the money would be well used by benitez. Instead of buying players that are slightly average, he should buy better players. Benitez is a flop in the transfer market, as everyone knows.
The only good buy that he bought was fernado torres. Thats it.

I think liverpool needs a huge facelift... change the whole damn team, with only torres, agger, skrtel, reina, babel, mascherano, kuyt and benayoun remains... the others are either too old, or too underperforming... sell them..

so who's going to replace mascherano?

better sell or better still exchange with barcelona, since he wants to go there.
can exchange barcelona with yaya toure. if barcelona agrees to it, its a win win situation for both.
the reason he doesnt play well this season is his heart is not into liverpool anymore.

sell him and buy silva with that money...move gerrard back to central to partner lucas...and put kuyt back as striker...
