Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is unhappy with Chelsea claims they were simply undone by two set-pieces on Saturday.
Headers by Richard Dunne and James Collins from corners secured a 2-1 win as Villa bounced back from Didier Drogba’s fortuitous opener.
“I think that’s kind of crazy if that’s the case,” fumed O’Neill. “Chelsea, over the last five years, have won numerous games with set plays.
“World Cups have been decided on set plays and we have won the game today. I think that would be doing us a real disservice, that’s part of the game.
“My overall view of the game is I thought we were splendid.”
O’Neill was knocked off his feet when the Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka’s momentum took him into the technical area.
“I thought he should have been sent off!” joked O’Neill. “It was really sore, but I took it like a man and I didn’t cry.’’
