Chelsea captain John Terry believes next year's World Cup will be his last.
Though only 29, Terry says: “I think we’ve got carried away before to our cost, so we must not allow that to happen. But I realise this will probably be my last World Cup. A few of us know that.
“It’s something we’ve not come out and spoken about. It’s something that’s boiling up inside. And hopefully by the time World Cup comes around, we will erupt and that’s going to be the determination that takes us that extra step further.
“Playing for your country is the be-all and end-all. We play for our clubs and we’re paid by them and obviously we love winning trophies for them.
“But as a boy you want to play for your country, wear the England shirt, the Three Lions and everything that goes with it. The hairs on my neck still stand up before every game. It’s every kid’s dream.”
