Today while I was out, I was approached by a lady.
She asked me something "church?" , "church?"
At first I thought she was asking me the directions to a church.
After I said "sorry?" and then she repeated again a few times in a clearer voice, then I understood.
"Do you go to church?"
"Do you know about Jesus?"
Then I thought to myself.....Ooohh.....this one......
She asked me something again.
I just replied to her "yes, actually I am a Catholic, thank you"
"Jesus said only in His name there is glory"
"Yes, ok, thank you" I nodded and smiled.
Then she walked away slowly and left.
Actually thinking about it, immediately I was a bit concerned and worried for her safety and well-being. She was lucky that she met with me, a co-religionist. I think with her strange style, there is a chance that she may meet with an unpleasant event. Maybe an altercation or a fight can happen.
Haizz.....
You're right. I wonder what her fate would be like if she bumped into a HSBC credit card promoter.

you can complain to HSBC if you encountered aggressive card promoters. these card promoters were not employed by HSBC. these companies were outsourced to them to do the promoting and selling of HSBC credit cards.
Lol
I don't think it's actually legal for them to do this. This is considered proselytizing
Proselytizing is the act of attempting to convert people to another opinion and, particularly, another religion.
TS relax. nothing would have happened to her. the most she will received is a no thank you response.
once I was approached by a guy on this. I just said no assertively and he got my message. I went off in my direction and he took off in another direction.

The rules applied to these promoters should be similar to smoking in public areas. Yes, not within 5 meters of entrances/exits of public buildings and such.

Erm...not sure but I think in some extreme cases u can be arrested. Like maybe if it ends up as harassment?
The last time a church worker approached me, I replied "no thanks, I don't need a credit card or insurance."

you go tell this to your MP and he/she may relay your message to the minister in charge in parliament
since PAP can make any laws they like based on their majority in parliament, if it is reasonable and valid, they may consider passing this law.

My MP is so solid, she shut down the entire food centre and wet market for major renovation to be completed only before the coming elections. The last major renovation done to it was before the 2006 elections.
But its ok, it has forced the best wanton mee in hougang to shift location to a super secret spot, that there are no longer any queues.

If you get pestered by sales people on the road all the time, you would feel the same as I do.

earlier this week at Jurong East MRT, there were many promoters selling MioTV. When the promoter tried approaching me, I did not react and continue walking. I just act as if he is not there.
