Melbourne or Sydney?

  Hi all, having read the following threads & should someone be moving over to MEL there on a Spousal Visa, or application onshore in MEL, may anyone advise:

   

  (1) Is there really a criteria that "No going out of Australia" for 2 years, not even for travelling overseas?

   

  (2) Junior education as compared to Singapore

   

  (3) It is heard that there are "discrimination" for medical needs of local citizens & "migrated" citizens, any personal feels?

  1) "No going out of Australia" for 2 years criteria exists but not sure what the conditions are. i am sure u can travel but there are certain conditions to be met. i dont know if this applies to guardian or spousal visa ( a dependant) but i know such a condition exists for main visa holders (work permit) who just got employed because of their binding contract with employer

  2) This is subjective. The educations system in OZ and singapore both has its merits and disadvantageous. In singapore, u get a solid grounding in language, maths and science skills but lacks independent and creative thinking. In OZ u gets lots of independent and creative thinking. U have to decide which is better in the long run.

  3) Yes, there may be but it is not everywhere. it depends on the place and environment
