Hi, im going to aus to study next year. wonder if i should buy my clothes before going? because im quite small sized.. =x
if xs is big for ya, all the best
pls lah this would be the last thing you should worry about.
well, small size people are lucky. we get to shop for clothes in the youth department where everything is cheaper.
though you might worry about getting really grown up looking shoes. So if you feet is abnormally small like mine, you either has to settle for wearing size 36 with some arch support paddings, or wear youth shoes which unfortunately comes in pink or baby blue colours.
and since the angmoh country has angmohs that has longer bodies and legs....plus boobs, you need to consider buying your bras and bring them over there. take along those bras balls that can be used to wash and dry your bras in the washer and dryer.
Clothes wise, measure your self in inches to better judge the sizing if you are buying stuffs online. take note that angmoh female pants and jeans are built with extra butt space and leg length. You also sould take note of your inseam.
and lastly, everything there is also made in china, cambodia, thailand, malaysia, singapore(I dont know how, but I bought some clothes with tags that says made in singapore.) So their sizing is sometimes whacked. Try things before you buy, or at least make sure you carry a tailors measuring tape with you to better judge your purchases.
And....because clothes are dried in dryers at most places, you need to consider skrinkage when you bring over your clothes.
I like Hanes Long Sleeve Crew neck tees. bought about 9 pieces todate to wear in summer and winter in OC California. Its made of cotton so summer wise it keeps sun from attacking directly onto my skin. Winter time can layer with a short sleeve t-shirt, a padded vest or a full padded jacket.
Jeans wise, should be no problem, but if you dont think you got skinny legs, can buy those cheap ones from Sg CK Dept Store and bring over a dozen. Shop and save have them too.
Or you can hope that levis signature is available in your sizes.
and errmmm......bring along a bolster. you wont have space for clothing this way.
LoL... maybe u buy sweaters jackets thicker t shirts there. Anything thin in material u buy sg better gua..
buy all your fancy shirts, jeans , pants , shoes , tops whatever in Sg. lol.
I come back with n empty luggage.. i am going over with an overweight luggage. hahaha
Look, here's my guide for living overseas for three months at a stretch. You can add on later.

So you should just try out the clothings before you buy them.

Oz is not forever cold. there are days where it will be sweltering hot so be prepared with shorts and singlets.

Depends on the airline you fly.
i did a 22kg and a 23kg bags to OC California recently and those clothes, socks, undies, bras, jewelries, full size bath scrubs, shampoos & moisturisers....plus those heavy glass bottles of face moisturisers including night creams takes up maybe 5kg per bag.
the more important stuffs like 21 boxes of bak gua, 3 tins of bak hu, 24 bottles of shampoo, 7 boxes of prima deli laksa paste and padded jacket took up the rest.
Check your airline baggage allowance and use a weighing machine to weigh to make sure.
And....if you uses L'oreal face skincare products. Like the revitalift whitening or the whitening series. please buy in Singapore & bring it along. Oz and US dont have plenty of those variations to pick from.
Rip all your CDs to mp3 devices and bring along Obit Chinese/hokkien/Cantonese songs in your mp3.
Trust me....listening to Obit songs on Mp3 while travelling on buses & trains are a seriously interesting experience. Somehow, my Fm receiver cant pick up decent songs in Seattle and Orange County California, maybe just the gospel channel & some slow western channel.
You can always download english songs from internet, but hokkien stuffs are just rare!
