A couple of mildly interesting pictures I snapped on my way to the bus stop after work yesterday:
The accumulated snow from the previous two heavy snowstorms is melting and draining from the overpass during the day, but refreezing overnight, creating this rather pretty "frozen waterfall" effect under the bridge. -

We had a line of pretty severe storms move through the area earlier this afternoon. Here's a picture I snapped of the leading edge of the system as it passed overhead:
The tornado sirens were blaring when I took the picture. The winds picked up significantly as the front came through and the rain came down in torrents for a while. The passage of the front also brought much cooler weather, bringing us some much-needed relief from the stiflingly hot and humid weather we've been experiencing recently. No complaints from me there!

Don't know if you guys are interested in navy stuff. Hubby's ship had a dependent's day open house. Here we are on the steel beach waiting for the 7th fleet band to play. It was overcast but super muggy that day, almost stifling even. They served typical ship's fare *bleh* Sometime after the band started I had to go below deck level because I felt so sea sick.

Hubby served on the ship for 3 years. We rotate between shore and sea with a 3 year alternate rotation.
