  You heard of how we homo sapiens are supposed to have descended from chimps(or at least shared a common ancestor with them).

  Chimps(and apes, monkeys etc) walk on all fours, thus much of the time the view the male chimp/ape got of the female one was their BUTT. And when they copulate, the male from behind, again, he would get a good view of her BUTT.
