Engineer fined for beating up man who kissed wife

An engineer was given the maximum fine of S$2,500 after he beat up a man for kissing his wife.
According to local media reports, Desmond Hua Chung Fook, 28, who was originally accused of causing grievous hurt, pleaded guilty to slapping and punching Darryl Oi Weijian, 24, several times on his face and body, causing him to fall and suffer serious injuries.
The incident occurred on July 2, 2009 at the stairway along a block of flats near Toa Payoh Central.
A district court was told that Hua’s wife, Ms Zhang Huiqing, 29, went drinking with her friends, including Mr Oi, who was an ex-colleague, at St James Power Station the night before.
When Mr Oi, who freelances in the finance industry, took Ms Zhang home, he suggested to smoke at the staircase landing outside her house and she agreed to join him. They then became intimate.
However, the pair were spotted by Hua, who happened to be out for a smoke at that time.
A cat and mouse chase followed thereafter, before Hua managed to strike the victim on his left cheek. In the midst of the scuffle, Mr Oi fell down a flight of steps.
He managed to pick himself up and head for the lift lobby where he was again assaulted by Hua. As they tussled, Oi was knocked against the railings after he was pushed by Hua. The victim was admitted to hospital and lost his memory for 32 days.
Hua could have been jailed for up to three months and/or fined for causing hurt on grave and sudden provocation.

I guess the judge was leinent to him as he was already in worse situation.
Putting him in jail will make his life worse.
Hope he recover soon from this crisis.

under the law to hit people is wrong. but he at least defended his own dignity and also honored what he and his wife read agreed and signed the marriage paper in front of a professor when they got married.if the man know she is a lrady a wife he should not had kissed her. the wife know that she is married to another guy should not accept that simonking's kiss.

As a mechanical engineer by profession myself, the way that I see it is that the husband was not taking good care of any plumbing issues that his wife obviously had. The engineer must have noticed this, and gave her a kiss. The 'kiss' being 'Applying at head office for a job that needed doing in the basement:-)
