BUDAPEST, Hungary — Hospital: Driver Felipe Massa in `life-threatening’ condition after skull fracture surgery.
BUDAPEST, Hungary — Hospital officials said Felipe Massa is in “life-threatening” condition after undergoing emergency surgery on a skull fracture following a violent crash at Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying.
Officials at the AEK military hospital said Massa will be kept sedated on a respirator overnight in the intensive care unit.
Medical director Peter Bazso said at a news conference that “Massa’s condition is serious, life-threatening but stable.” Bazso and chief surgeon Lajos Zsiros said they expect Massa to be awoken on Sunday.
Massa underwent surgery one hour after arriving at AEK hospital at 3:20 p.m. local time, the doctors said.
Massa was struck in the helmet by a loose part from another car and slammed straight into the tire barrier. -
I just came back from the hospital.Felipe went trough a cirurgy which went very well.Now he is asleep waiting for a new scan tomorrow

they got caught out by the rule changes. could have been much worse though.
massa was suay to get hit but was also damn lucky. If it impacted a few cm more to the center of his visor, it could have been much more worse.

Massa is no longer under sedatives and is now awake and doing well. Badoer, Gene or Schumi could step in because he could be out for the rest of the season.

massa been having a bad 2 years in racing
last year lost the championship due to that cock ups. This year ferrari was doing badly initialy and now that they are doing better, something worse hits him....
