Track: Hockenheimring Batten-Wurttemberg
Laps: 67
Starts at: 2000 HRS SIN
The German Grand Prix returns to Hockenheim this year as part of an alternating arrangement with the Nuerburgring. The original high-speed track was shortened in 2002 into its current configuration. Nevertheless it is still one of the faster circuits on the calendar.
Rain is expected to interfere with at least one of the sessions this weekend. The last time there was precipitation during a Grand Prix here, Rubens Barrichello took his maiden victory. There has been some great wheel-to-wheel racing even on the new layout between the likes of Alonso, Button, Raikkonen and Montoya, partly due to the inclusion of a tight hairpin in the middle of the lap.
This race marks the beginning of the second half of the championship, and what a tight championship it is at the moment! Hamilton, Massa and Raikkonen are level at the top on 48 points, while Kubica is only 2 points behind them. You have to tune in to find out who will take a small but significant lead this Sunday!
