Wondering what will the numbers be on McLaren's 2008 car should Alonso remain at McLaren? Is it 21 & 22 based on the constructors championship or 2 & 3 based on the Drivers championship?

It will based on constructors since they did not win the driver's title. So their numbers would be 22 and 23...

So shock that Mclaren can get the last few numbers..this year 1 and 2, then suddenly last few. It will look weird on their cars next year.

McLaren have apologised after learning from a report by FIA's delegation that Ferrari ideas that weren't in the public domain of knowledge were incorporated into its 2008 design. The statement was signed by Martin Whitmarsh (CEO, and not team principal Ron Dennis), and the team offers to freeze development in 3 contentious areas. Even the FIA have implored the World Motorsport Council to consider the case closed.
