The last direct quote from Dennis, after the Hungarian GP, is:We have two drivers who are contracted for several years into the future. We will respect our part of that bargain and that part of the situation - we hope that the drivers respect theirs, because that's what a contract is about.
I had a sense after Melbourne that this would turn out to be Prost/Senna all over again. Jaysus, was I wrong - this is much worse. -

Whoever he drives for next year should be prepared to have their garage outside McDonald's here so that he can get his Happy Meal. -
Nick, with all due respect, I reckon Alonso's gut feel about how things are going at Mac is right. Hell, even Ron Dennis admitted on Sunday that Hamilton's more a part of the team than Alonso - even though Lewis is a rookie, he's been with Mac for what, something like ten years? I haven't been too impressed with young Lewis since the post-race conference at Melbourne. He claimed to have forced Massa into an error when Massa so obviously tripped over himself. My gut feel is that Lewis is a real game player, and he's hiding it behind a squeaky-clean image. -

I missed out the bit about Lewis being told to pit 1 lap earlier, Ged. Then it can't be Alonso's fault. It's strange that the lollipop man wasn't kept privy to the plans though.
McLaren are going ahead with the appeal and the FIA has confirmed this. -
