  Bridgestone are trying out new markers for the soft compound tyres. At the Australian GP they used a white dot on the sidewalls but the feedback received was that it wasn't visible enough. Here they have a red dot on the sidewalls and a white line painted into the groove.

  Fair weather, Kovalainen set the fastest time on a qualifying simulation, but suffered an engine failure in the afternoon. Heidfeld had engine problems in the morning too.
