It's quite sad to see the election has degraded into "primary school name callings and accusations" -___-

tat's why by e time everyone goes to e poll, you realise e rally makes e opp look like clowns as well
just who do I choose?
The Hougang HUDC saga, can't help but remind me of LTK kpkb abt HDB car park maintenance in his area.
He kena rebutted tat his Town Council decided to maintain car park on its own and not as like others let HDB handle..
Dunno true or not
did anyone receive the real PAP Times explaining burning issues?

Elections is no longer effective... Infact the MP and GRC system is flawed...
Nowadays, few vote whether has the has the MP did his/her job anot... Ppl just vote based on whether they prefer PAP or opposition as a whole... Simply put it, it's a popularity contest, not a talent contest... As long as u got a HUGE fanbase, u'll still win singapore idol even if u sing average...
Besides, it's sickening to see both side wayang... U'll only get to see opposition during election time (you dun see them normally, except a few area, where the opposition really work even if the ward dun belong to them, and CSJ which behaves like a hooligan in past - aka "you dun give me licence for my speech I still go on, u think i scared ah?" mentality")... As for PAP, u dun see them on the ground normally either unless it's meet-the-people session or after something bad happens then they go play PR...

but then it's good for only solely to reduce cost of imports.
But it hurts our exports
looking at what's being written about lui tuck yew in the other thread, I'd say truth is the first victim in this election ....

Currency appreciation leads to cheaper imports and more expensive exports. Good news for consumers who like their imported stuff, less so for Singapore's economy as a whole.
Any baboon who got B for A Level Economics can figure that out.
But then again, we do have baboons who want English teachers to use hip-hop and rap to teach English in class....

eh
most of our daily essential items like toiletries, food has to be imported these days
mmmm
So the HUDC one is somewhat explained.

it is also a matter of perspective and context ... though over-appreciation hurt exports and needs to be reined in, remember that currency appreciation offsets inflation ... helps soothes the cost-of-living issues that's hot with this year's elections. It is also a sign of a strong economy.
I think we should not judge any comments at face value, but look deeper into the context, and indeed, in these times, the very veracity of the comments itself.
now e rigged conspiracy is coming out
I think ppl beginning to sense something is wrong for 1 camp? I'm playing w/ reverse mentality

look bussy, I've ran more than one opposition rallies every night since I came back, and frankly, most of them were nothing more than bitch and rail and whine sessions ..... shiok to go to, scratches your balls ... but after all the sound and fury, frankly, none of them offer anything, and they know it too ... deep down they know that it doesn't really matter what kind of bullshit their "shadow cabinets" spews out, cos deep down they know it wouldn't happen ... so they'll just sit back and throw up whatever that sounds good to the people, and then point fingers and say "I told you so" or take whatever credit that comes along ...
I don't go to PAP rallies cos you already know what they are offering, stability and predictability for the next 5 years at least. fine if people think taking out a few ministers or putting in some opposition mps would serve as a wake up call, but if you think about it, they'll just be there to make noise ... I have been following every parliament's debates, these fellows have only asked a handful of questions in total, low thia khiang blinked when it came to mas selamat, and sylvia only spoke up about the minister's pay on the last session of parliament, right before the elections ... it's more to sell herself to the people if you ask me ...
I once thought the WP was different this time round ... till I attended their rallies ... they are no different from the other rabble like the SDP if you ask me ... and then they throw up someone like chen show mao ...... it'll be a sad sad day if we exchange our foreign minister for basically a foreigner with a red passport, someone who've been away for 30 years ....
of course, it's "cool" to be in the opposition right now, with youtube jingles, starwar clips, etc, coming out every day ... young first time voters I guess ... the democratic process requires a certain maturity and responsibility for it to work, looking at what's happening in singapore this elections, all the online activities, slurs on facebook etc, I'd say, 3 elections down the road, and we'll be the same as taiwan or the phillippines ...
