  well, one could just decide to be really thick skinned and makan and say no to everything else.

  First, make the fella agree to belanja you makan....

  Then, watch out if his colleague just suddenly 'happens to be in the area', or he starts talking about some business plan.

  If that happens, just look at your watch, exclaim 'OMG! Look at the time!', come up with some excuse (mom is ill, last minute overtime), then quickly thank him and run off.

  You get free food and do not have to waste time listening to his scam.

  another variation is to wear a bluetooth earpiece and pretend you just received an urgent call from work/home

  mom is all right...

  chances are, it's not a stroke.. it's most probably something wrong with her ears that caused her extreme nausea and therefore weakness...

  still don't know what's going on, all tests are negative and she's much better...

  hopefully will be discharged tomorrow

  In any case SBS has placed a notice w/ regards to e coming IT fair at Suntec.

  SBS Svs 36 (Towards Airport), 70M, 97 (Towards Jurong) 111, 133 (Towards Marina Bay Sands/ Shenton Way), 133M, 162M, 502, 518 will not call the bus stop outside Suntec Convention Ctr & Temasek Ave/ Carrefour if the road is jammed.

  It will call the bus stop along Raffles Blvd/ Opp Marina Sq instead.
