Okay, it took two weeks, but SBS Transit has finally emailed me to apologize about that front reader issue I talked about.
They apologized to me, saying that the reader screwed up, and offered to mail me a complimentary travel voucher 'as a gesture of goodwill'.
However, they sidestepped my question about why the damn readers cannot just be on permanent ENTRY/EXIT mode so that this sort of incident will never happen again.
As I told them: 'That was a simple question, and I believe that I speak the Queen's English. So you can ditch your voucher, because your gesture of goodwill seems really hollow considering how you sidestepped my question'.

anyone got a PM from a chap who wanna sell u a bus model?
In other news.... would you believe that I've started taking multivitamin supplements meant for children?
Flintstones Vitamin Supplements, to be precise.
I know this may sound weird, but normal adult multivitamins increase my stomach acidity so much that I often get stomachache and/or heartburn.

Here's one really effective cancer-prevention method: stop smoking.
Seriously, it was cigarettes that killed my uncle. He had been a heavy smoker for as long as I could remember.

my quota is less than a stick a day now ....
but there's this theory that says cancer is most often caused by acidic blood ......
acidic blood is caused by meat, particularly red meat ......
alkaline blood is caused by eating too much vegs ....
apparently, buddhist monks and nuns have the lowest incidence of cancer ....

Unless some medical researcher published that in Nature or some reputable medical journal, I believe that's nothing more than bad science.....
Stick to what has already been firmly-established: cigarette smoke can cause lung cancer.
Since you've cut down on your intake so drastically, then maybe it's time to go full hog and quit altogether.

I will, when I walk down the aisle .....
it's one of fatumnette's rules ..... smoke ciggy, no kissy ...
and she's great at detecting ciggy smell .......
that's why I only smoke on days when I'm not out with her now ....

it's actually pretty intuitive isn't it ? .... everyone's encouraged to eat more vegs and less red meat anyways, neh ? ....
check this out guys ....

I'm not surprised at all .....
and I'm telling you ... they had to squeeze that ren ci monk's nuts hard cos they planned to go after bigger fishes .....
you watch, next on the list would be new creation.

not intuitive. and I haven't seen ground for that line of reasoning.
For your monks and nun theory.
1) Note that they typically eat steamed and bland food => less carcinogens cos won't chao tar.
2) They also may not go out into the city or traffic much and thus are exposed to less of the toxic air.
3) I believe they probably eat less processed foods then the rest of the population do too.
I believe there are 101 reasons.

of course there are 101 reasons and environmental factors involved.
but does the basic premise change ? that eating more vegs and less meat is good for you ?
regardless of the reasoning, whether it's the pH of the blood, or the karmic debt of killing and eating animals, or anti-oxidants in vegs, or urea in meat or whatever, no ?
but wow ... the irony here ..... suddenly, I'm a healthy living proponent ....
