rsaf reservist is abit funny in a way that its the squadron who calls you up.. and since its ST doing their servicing now, its highly unlikely that they even need to call up their reservist personnels even though they're supposed to maintain currency.. i know for sure that the reservist techs i see now are just 8-5 reading newspaper and doing escort duty..

the best part is that my sqn took in alot of reservists from other squadrons that closed down.
now my sqn is halfway through the commercialisation.
if u think about it, there's a whole lot of reservists for them to call up to do nothing

thats why..and reservist personnels for technical jobs also usually quite a liability..because they're not as up to date with the methods etc and usually are just there to help do the sai kang especially if there're no longer any more nsf intakes..
in the army, reservists are called up for training to keep themselves up to date with abit of fitness training..
in the airforce, reservists are called up because there is too much work to do and they need help..thats the difference..

don't speak so soon dude ..... I've seen the most unlikely of regulars ....

the stupid thing is that when the reservist gets posted to another sqn, he has to go through training on that particular aircraft.
there is a problem with the system.
1) i don't get to service the aircraft.
2) i need currency to maintain a skill which i don't know how to use

True. But right now, as it is, I'd prefer to get it over and done with.
I'm open to that change, but I really cannot see myself wasting time in there when I have things I want to do outside of NS.
fark ! ... just did my sums ......
I paid out nearly 1k in traffic and parking summons last year ....

ok, off to bed soon. ta!
Okay, SingPost has just cleared the air: the vandalized mailboxes were actually a publicity stunt on their part.....
As publicity stunts go, this ranks as one of the most stupid. So from now on, if I see some bugger spray-painting SingPost's property, I'll just assume that it's another one of their publicity stunts....
And SingPost had actually told TNP a few days before that they had filed a police report.... if this is to be believed, then I suppose that SingPost had knowingly filed a false police report (which is, by the way, a chargeable offence)?
my friday will be spent LAN gaming with the guys
what a thing to do for guys reaching their 30s

It was poorly planned... the police should've been informed first about this. At least they would've had a laugh about the calls from the public.
this is hilarious!

The police sure ain't amused..... after all, in the absence of other information, they had to treat it as a real case of vandalism. And police officers were indeed dispatched to the crime scenes and tried to hunt for clues and stuff.
Sure, SingPost has the right to do whatever they want to their own property, but not at the expense of law enforcement resources.
And yeah, they sure have not heard of the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' fable by Aesop.... from now on, if a real vandal were to actually vandalize SingPost property, everyone is going to assume that it's just another one of their damn marketing stunts....
they should go charge the idiots who thought up this idea...
anyway, funny picture of the day
