i'd vote for a cockroach over lau lee's son any day!
the only person i'd not vote over lau lee's son is CSJ.. and if it came to that, i'm spoiling the vote
I know people who are worse off ....
I know this young malaysian couple, PRs here, technician level people, not really raking in that much by singapore's standards. They've been renting all the time, and because they haven't been here long, there's not much in their CPF. A friend intro'ed me to help them out.
On top of that they can only buy resale. A standard three room is already asking for at least 30k over valuation, even if it's on the second floor beside the rubbish dump, how to buy ? They are not even eligible for those HDB reclaimed flat auctions.
I actually like Goh.
When he was PM, everyone thought that he will be a puppet
But he proved otherwise.
Thing is right now he is being given the role of the bearer of bad news.
Have you noticed if there is bad news, he will be the one announcing it?
Otherwise, you don’t even hear or see him in the news at all

The last time Marine Parade was contested was in..... 1991?
that's good, the opposition don't really like losing their deposits of course.
He's a good, down-to-earth man, and I'm convinced he did the best he could for Singapore in his time.

By taking on fewer people and hence losing less in elections, the opposition is trying to make a rosy turn in the "loss" figure. And it works.

But seriously I think it’s easier for him.
My parents can just sell off the flat and move back to East Coast Road and my bro and his wife can move in with them.
I think that's what the gov't wants most of us to do - filial piety is encouraged and even enforced.

Funan Weng Ipoh Ho Fun= yum yum yum.. anyone wants to go?
Anybody has idea where the ex Marina South hotpots moved to?

Yeah, I know.... the Holy Goh has his faults, to be sure, but I'd pick him over the son....
The son is an utter disaster compared to his predecessors.... simply put, he messed things up big time once he got into power...
Lau Lee likes to say if he wasn't the father, there won't have been a PM Goh.

PRs who are married to locals get the short end of the stick as well if they divorce or if their spouses pass away...

I tell you, it's just about the best HDB neighbourhood in Singapore. Got shopping, got good markets, got hawker centre, got good schools nearby, right beside the sea, very breezy. And it's the cleanest and most quiet housing estate I've seen. Nowhere else comes close.

I think lau lee's son is just an extension of his old man's will.
who knows, he might actually improve if the old man dies soon enough and he gets to do his own thing.

I've gotta decide between 3 seperate database, which are the correct data when all 3 could be wrong and no one know's which entry from which database is correct... And the only hardcopy material for me to check against is 14 piece of papers >__> when I have near to 10k entries...
in this case, you should just take the average of the 3 databases for each data point

too "ulu", and you're staring across a muddy straits at johore, instead of the open sea like east coast.

Yeah..... I've lived in Marine Parade all my life, and I wouldn't want to move out of here if I could....
It's quiet and comfy with none of the hustle and bustle of other estates like, say, Tampines.
About the only downside that Marine Parade has is that there are no good MRT connections. The nearest MRT is at Eunos, which is like.... 20 minutes away by bus.
It says a lot that I actually take the bus all the way down to City Hall MRT when I go to school each morning. Because it takes virtually just as long, and the train is no longer packed by the time it reaches City Hall.

I suspect so too.
I'd give small lee a vote, even if it's only cause he's the lesser of evils.

True. the only thing it's lacking is an MRT station.
