It flooded from Coronation all e way to King Albert Park. At some stretches, you can't even know which is e canal which is Bt Timah Rd/ Dunearn Rd
Yah, I read about the flooding in one of the other threads here. The pictures made the flooding look pretty bad, but I'll bet the floodwaters receded fairly quickly after the rain subsided.

yesh it receded very quickly
but wat disturbed me was the interviews on PAP Times. One commented how can a atas housing area be flooded like tat.
Ahem, refers back to 1980s

Well, it's lucky there's a big deep drain nearby at least
But tat place I admit, if there's big rain visibility is indeed poor

Yeah, boss! I can remember the floods back in the '70's and '80's. I was in Primary school then when there was a really bad flood that the canals beside the school couldn't handle. We had to wade in the water and were all amused at the guppies thrashing on the metal floor of the bus! However, I was definitely NOT thrilled by the cockroaches floating around, thrashing wildly with their legs, trying to swim close enough to you so they can climb onto you!!!

An angry woman wielding a baseball bat, rolling pin or other weapon of mass concussion is about as close as you can get to an uncontrollable force of nature.
Plus I am somewhat averse to blunt force trauma...

i was in primary six when i have to hold the hands of my junior, the primary ones..to wade across the corridedoors and bring them safely to the classroom.. while walking carefully among the knee high water, i stopped and freezed in horror.... a toad just swam past...the primary one girl, pulled my hand and said "dun scare" and led me to safety, away from the toad.. *so shameful siah*

Perhaps the floods were HDB's way of reminding the residents of the housing estates to pay their conservancy charges on time.
