It IS a third world country...
... with first world capabilities.
It's like we're all leaving in dreamland. We don't realise we're actually that bad, because we have shit like shopping malls all over the island to distract us.

ERH.. I meant the scene is at the bus stop.. imagine
see bus comes...
uncle all ran to the yellow line, some even want to go to the kerb.
wave frantically to tell bus driver, stop in front of me..
bus comes, mirror low, almost hitting the chaps and uncles head...
the bus slide forward... all follow and quickly scrambled to the left and almost body against the bus body...
imagine one day, one guy tripped and he surely be pinned under the wheel.. then, it's become the poor driver agony..!

dun get shocked, actually our MRT NSL & EWL was only meant for 1m ppl.. yet SMRT is carrying 1.3m per day now!as for buses, one factor is they went to purchase more single decks instead in e late 90s and also e growing traffic jam these days... I can confirm that bus journey is getting longer compared to 6 yrs ago.. so either more buses are deployed to maintain e freq or passenger gotta wait longer with the new schedule
I have not been on a double deck bus for years! buses that used to be double deck now I see only single deck

and the more they import, the less the younger generation will want to reproduce.
actually this has implications on the SAF. and its already happening. not enough manpower = kids with existing medical conditions that would have exempted them from combat vocations or bmt last time (e.g. bad backs, bad knees, high blood pressure etc), are now being forced to undergo training that they really should not be udergoing.

I have a bad back and a knee problem!
Jokes aside, is anyone worried about the growing rate of deaths in the SAF?

why do you think people are complaining that they get conscripted to protect foreigners? It sure seems so when more than half the people you see on the bus are foreigners.
They should just make the PRs go through NS when they want to become PRs

I felt like kicking the dogs while walking past just now
Originally posted by hisoka:is that their excuse for reducing frequency and overcrowding?
like I've said just now
there's more and more traffic on e road these days. end up travelling time for buses becomes longer and longer.. with e current resources, they can only either add 1 or 2 peak hr shift buses or else reschedule which end up longer waiting time i.e. from 10 mins to 12 mins vice versa.
tat's why I think now they realise e mess created on e upcoming YOG.. how to transport e participants fast during e AM peak from NTU to e Eastern corridor

yeap...
even cases tat can easily be downgraded i.e. serious eczema end up still PES B and forced to suffer going outfield...
mmm... but I dun think they can claim damages since e MOs can't be bothered these days

actually I'm not. If anything I'm happier. Reason being I believe the number of deaths has always been as high, if not higher. Only difference now is they are becoming more transparent in reporting. Which is a very good thing.

Do what they always do for important events and people lor. Just sacrifice the citizenry and close of roads so they have a smooth ride and everything looks nice and good.
Then the athletes and officials will go back and effuse on how good singapore is.
