I'm like.............why? As if alighting passengers didn't already know that and people trying to get into the trains are going to give a shit
As if SMRT cares, or LTA, or whoever's in-charge. If they really bothered, why not implement something like what you see in theme parks, have some fence thing seperating people who are boarding and alighting, people alight first, when that's done, let people board.
Sure it'd take up a lil bit more time, a few more minutes wouldn't hurt right? Considering they're cutting down on trains and increasing wait times and shit like that. Few more minutes, honest.

I've had enough of playing marshal everytime I board or alight - so have you tried sticking your elbows out when leaving? =P

Yeah lor, I guess. Considering at peak hours, the fence would just be obliterated anyway. Stations can 'barely hold passengers'.
It's like suddenly so many people decided to come out of their homes and discover the joys and wonders of fresh air. Where did all these people come from?
Good morning.... *yawn*
talking about buses.. they really reduce the frequency..
was reading a book at the interchange while waiting for my usual bus. I have finised reading 3 chapters, no sign of bus arriving, and look behind.. wahlaaaa... the q has snaked all the way to other q pole at the other side... the bus was a double carriage long bus, and it is later filled up the bus...almost FULL.
I went..sianz ..what the heck, continue bury my head in my book and read..!
and...yes, i am late for work..:(
aiya end of e day, if everyone can be a bit more willing to let others alight first, we wun need to have to get PCK to spread gracious messages

No surprise there. Soon enough, these people who make stupid decisions for the public, will suffer themselves. Have you seen the roads? It's becoming Thailand, except less organized. Seriously, less organized. I've seen better drivers in the packed highways of Bangkok, and cars are moving smoothly, even though it's packed.

and during peak hours you'll have smrt staff with their creepy white gloves trying to direct human traffic at the tracks. so far I've given the finger to a few who tried to tell me where to go.

Wait till we kenna our first H1N1 victim, then we'll see PCK grace our television sets with broadway musicals telling us to do what we were supposed to have been doing in the first place. Like washing hands, cleaning house blah blah blah blah blah.
Common sense, no?

the main cause of the problem is severe overpopulation and a public transportation system that cannot cope.

I remembered last time ever saw bef... tat train officer go close e door whenever passenger tries to proceed to another carriage tat's less crowded...
talking abt train can afford to stop for 2 mins at stations like Tanah Merah, Raffles City to wait for e connecting train

I got 169 here leh! But 169 is from Woodlands, through Sembawang, Yishun then down to AMK Hub what. Where got 169 around LF?
They re-routed 882 in Sembawang, so not used to hearing buses jet by the flats now.
*super bad mood*
There is a wake at the next block
The family member whoever is it is a fucktard
Why can't he leave his yappy Chihuahuas at home
Those fucking dumb dogs keep yapping non-stop since 6am in the morning at every single car or stranger
And it starting yapping last night
And it's those shrilly kind of irritating bark

not to be biased.. those who slided alongside with bus (same momentum hor) and pushing everybody away when the bus is stopping at the bus stop so he can be in front of the door before the entrance door opened, are the abled body young chap and uncles...
at my place, we aunties rather stand aside and let those guys fight their way thru 1st...
i bring videocam next time..and show u daily scenes of Tagore!

I dunno about you, but singapore seems to be becoming more and more like a third world country, nevermind the new buildings and shopping centres popping up.

dun get shocked, actually our MRT NSL & EWL was only meant for 1m ppl.. yet SMRT is carrying 1.3m per day now!
as for buses, one factor is they went to purchase more single decks instead in e late 90s and also e growing traffic jam these days... I can confirm that bus journey is getting longer compared to 6 yrs ago.. so either more buses are deployed to maintain e freq or passenger gotta wait longer with the new schedule

how could we have severe overpopulation when the younger generation are not producing?

LF takes it to Tagore daily..
sadly when SBS operated 169 back in 1980s, it deployed lots of double decks

sometimes it's better cos i dun think you also want to wait till e bus stop only then ppl start to move to e exit and end up longer dwell time at e bus stop
of course it isn't a nice feeling la

our economy is first world.. but people's behaviour isn't and yes, cos they went for more cars on e road than more empahsis on buses and MRT
