on. since got so many peeps, can pre-order the burgundy prime roast? 3-4 of us share 1kg? 2-3yrs back it was like $55/kg or so and 3 days lead time. too kancheong reply... if going astons that is. :p

Yesterday, I watched this Korean movie about cooking... this poor humble chef was competing in a very important competition, and he was forced to slaughter the cow that had been with him ever since the lowest point in his life... so poor thing

I watched the same movie last year! but man that poor cow looked absolutely delicious -

that cow look so cute ..
the food inside sure looks delicious ..
but that's outta the point..
lets come back to movie and dinner ..

it's friday.. i think lots of people have to work so after work go moobee then eat at 10pm, quite siong.. and worse, waraku may be closed -

Actually for the price at Aston's, I think gaps in service like this is still "quite acceptable"
I still remember at Carousel (TBH I dunno why reviews of the place is so good)
The cold seafood section was so-so
The western food.....Yorkshire Pudding taste like burnt cupcake, the roasts were too dry....nice environment and all but I really don't think the food is worth the price. The only thing I think is good is that if you wanna go to a more upmarket place with your muslim friends, that is the place to go.
But what stood out most in my memory was at the Oyster station
Me: What oysters are these?
Server: Oysters mdm.
Me: No, I mean where are they from as in their country of origin
Server: Singapore
Me: -_-" I don't mean where is your supplier from. I mean where are these oysters flown from
Server: Singapore
Me: Never mind -_-"For an expensive place in a 5 star hotel....they sure don't train their staff -_-"

Well he called out to me later they are imported from AustraliaAnd it's WORST if they are serving raw oysters from our 'clean' waters
To me that is worse than not knowing where they are from especially for the money I'm paying!! I might as well go to The Line because the price is about the same and their Oysters are from Australia/Canada/France!
PS. I didn't think the oysters at Carousel were good btw. I only had 2 that evening and usually I will eat at least half a dozen.

I agree with you. The service, food quality at carousel is lousy. I once went for a high tea buffet coz there was a duno what promotion ..
Anyway, I'm okay with the service of Astons .. seriously, I haven't met very bad service there b4 .. It was normal ..
For the price I'm paying, I'm not expecting much..
Its the food that I'm going for..

i've only been to the Aston's behind Joo Chiat.. the one behind the front Aston's... the service is good but the price is different
