or ex-ex sqn guys used to do this to rats that they caught
coat them with kerosene, put the cage into the drain... set the bugger on fire then open the cage
u see a flaming ball run down the drain
another method was using a metal pole and start smashing it to pieces... that was when they finally caught the mother rat.
I can't see anything more humane for the rat to die in the freezer. Either way, it's going to die. Rather a little prayer is a better options. That's the result when people and pest can't co-exist together
-_-" .......
I can understand that pests have to be killed .....
but to take pleasure in their deaths ? ...
they just drew the short straw at their last reincarnation mah, jumped through the wrong hoop perhaps ...

it was staring at me pitifully .... I'd have let it go if I could, but the body's stuck onto the sticky board liao ... so I figured it's better I kill the mouse humanely than let my folks drown it ....
I said some buddhist prayers for the poor mouse before I shut the freezer lid ... when you're dispatching some hapless critter, buddhism is more comforting ... you can reassure yourself that the poor critter has a chance at rebirth to a better existence ....
the fastest most humane way is to break the neck. other than using things like drugs or gas of course..........

omg.
I'm going to look into the possibility of obtaining some chlorofoam .....
knock out the mouse first .... then how it's dispatched afterwards doesn't matter ...
our neighbourhood's got a mice problem, this mouse won't be the last one, I don't like to do this, but I guess it's better I do it than my folks or my brother ...

How come YOU don't have a knee jerk reaction over such things?! Most people have a 'normal' behaviour, as opposed to 'abnormal' or 'deviant' behaviour!
I wouldn't even know what to do with a mouse caught in a mousetrap because I've never had to face this scenario. Phew!

don't do it. handling chloroform's not exactly good for health. and if there are women folk who want to be mothers later, that's very bad

And the angry mouse will sink its sharp teeth deep into Fatum's fingers before it dies!

That is extremely brutal and cruel!!!

you guys are sick!
ohh.. the sticky glue trap..
actually best if, like you say, get some chloroform or something to knock it out.. then dash its brains out.. that's the fastest way

Too bad you've got a dog and a bunny that eats everything otherwise, you can leave rat poison around the house. It kills them off quickly and drama-free.

I'm soooo glad Optus has fixed my broadband connection!! Yesterday, I suddenly lost connection after wanting to type a reply to kopi's 'leaky faucet... repair O-ring' comment. Pinky says by Australian standards, that is fast!
damn...why do i have a craving for pizza this early in the morning..
any rat or mouse that get trapped with the sticky glue type trap is doomed..
even if you want to save it, it'll lose most of its legs, or the least, its feet and tail..
the fastest way is to knock it out and despatch it the quickest way possible

Just use freakin' rat poison! Imagine the rat struggling so hard that it tears out its own limbs and flesh in the process!!!
Ah... I've just realised why I never had to deal with rats - I had my cats!
hmm.. someone "selling" a D2Xs for US$900
at least it's a semi-credible price for a scam this time.. the last time i saw this, was about a year ago (before the D3 was out) trying to flog it for US$750

haiz.. rat poison slowly kills it by causing major internal bleeding because if it kills the rat immediately, the other rats do not take the poison

nay, you just got to hold the tail and hold the neck.you you can use a bar and press down to break.

it's the only trap that works now .... the mice have gotten too smart for the spring door cage contraption ....
dashing the brains out would be very messy ... I'm gonna google for more painless and humane mice execution methods later ....
