I wash the covers weekly to make sure at least I have some protection. But I know my Bolskie is nearing its time to meet his maker... I just feel sad giving him up and sending him off..... Its like I feel I betray him after all those time he kept me company and gave me comfort especially for a bad/sad day.
Here in Melbourne, I can't find a proper bolster.
The only one I could find is from Ikea, but it's too short and stunted, and hugging it isn't as much fun as hugging my bolsters in Singapore.
I recently bought a 'body pillow', which is like the 'hum cheem pairng' (flat) version of a bolster. Instead of being cylindrical, it's a longer, rectangular pillow.
I miss my old bolster, but I was telling mom that by now, my bolster back home probably has green mould and brown mushrooms sprouting on it liao! And oh, an entire colony of dust mites too!
Pack two of those 'hum cheem pang' together to make a bolster :-D

:S You could re-stuff the bolskie. Give it fresh new insides, then patch up the holes. It'll smell different and yet, the same... :D So sad to give it up.

why don't you bring your bolster over from Singapore to Melbourne?
I've seen people pack and bring bolster to overseas countries before.
