Good thing you didn't. Otherwise, you would have been immediately tackled by an Air Marshal, hog-tied and held at gunpoint until the plane landed, whereupon you would be handed over to the police while the airline pressed charges against you for aggravated assault against one of their employees.

If everyone behaved graciously and doesn't have that "I'm paying for it therefore I deserve to have this and that" kinda attitude, service staff won't be under such tremendous pressure!
So true. A little consideration goes a long way. I've actually gotten seat upgrades on NWA in the past, just by being friendly with their harried counter staff who have probably handled more than their share of demanding customers.

The face make up was so thick and kindda of scary, and most of them are very grouchy...snapping at their counterparts.. very unhappy.
A young girl whose only exposure to the image has been through the advertisements wouldn't know.

Actually, if you think about it, haven't you ever wondered how those people who are rude and unreasonably demanding can sleep at night? I mean, won't they feel guilt-stricken for making someone else's life tough?
Whenever I have to call the dreaded service lines here, I always make sure that a fair deal is made, but I always tell the person that I know it's not their fault, it's the company's method of mishandling things that I'm upset with.
All said, I have, on occasion, lost my temper. Come to think of it, times when I have lost it is usually when some Indian call-service staff didn't quite understand English and kept on repeating some standard phrase like some robot. It's like they don't even bother to listen to what you're trying to say, and they just read out Response # 16A on some Call Response Sheet that they probably have in front of them. THAT gets me boiling mad! (Especially since phone calls don't come cheaply in Australia!)

Yipers!! You really cannot afford to compromise on air safety like that!!
Alright, a thread on SIA has turned into a thread for boycotting Quantas! I've never flown Quantas, and with this, I don't think I'm too keen on trying either!
eh ello ! ... ass coose me ! ..... this is a boycott SQ thread, not boycott Quantas thread hor ...
Qantas is really racist
i have horrendous experience in one of the flights too (but lazy to type it out...)
still SQ for me for Aussie routes
for China routes, I take china eastern airline
because they are half the price of SQ!
but i took Quantas too...they were very rude....
moving in while waiting for the ang-moh (who stood there and put the bags in the compartment), so i stand there and wait to get thru to my seat behind..
the dumbo auzzy air stewardess, instead of telling the angmoh dun block the passage, tell me the one kana stuck behind, "go find your seat and sit down". I shouted back to her" why are u so rude, did u see that i am blocked by this guy here. why arent u helping and slouching against the seats, standing there and not doing your job". her face turned red and kept staring at me the entire trip.
i purposely kept asking for drinks and they have to keep serving me the entire trip.
I be nice, but if they are mean, i wun be an angel liao!
Yikes! Has anyone here actually had a positive experience flying Qantas???

perhaps the cracks reported lately about 50% of the Quantas planes are not so big cracks...

ME!
travelling to australia from singapore and back.
they were really nice to us. could be due to the fact that we had one real cute kiddy with us. haha. the air stewardesses showered quite a lot of attention on my cousin's dotter. until the kiddy got annoyed and rolled her eyes and pretended to be asleep. heehee =p the kid's quite a character =p.
but no, i had no issues with qantas. in fact, it's one which i wont mind taking again actually. lol....=\
Venture Corp CEO's wife charged with causing hurt to SIA stewardess
THE wife of Venture Corp chairman and chief executive officer was charged in a magistrate's court with slapping a flight attendant last September.
Tan Siew Hoon, 61, is accused of causing hurt to Singapore Airlines stewardess Thia Jiamin, 25, on the left cheek on board a Tokyo-bound flight on Sept 20.
A week ago, Tan had settled a suit with Ms Thia who sought unspecified damages for 'emotional and mental distress'' as a result of the 'wrongful assault and battery'' as well as for defamation. The terms of settlement were confidential.
Tan and her husband, Mr Wong Ngit Liong, were in the business class of the Singapore Airlines flight when the alleged incident took place at around 3pm.
Her lawyer, Mr Ravinderpal Singh, told the court on Thursday he had made representations, and the prosecution asked for three weeks.
The case will be mentioned on April 3.
If convicted, she can be jailed for up one year or fined up to $1,000 or both.
*woots ! .... justice is being served ! .....
but I wonder if it would have been the case if the stewardess didn't go public though .... the wind says there's a lot of disenchantment in SIA over this incident, and crew morale is at rock bottom cos the prime minister's wife made some comments about air crew's allowances ..... so now there's talk of downgrading aircrew hotels from 5 stars to 3 .... and planes are being grounded, flights being delayed, planes being leased from MAS, because planes are being turned around so fast they are spending minimal time on the ground ....
