  with an attitude like that, most countries would not want anything to do with them..
  
  that's the paradox of migration.. i told this to my bosses before and they were not happy with me...
  
  i told them that those who wanted very much to migrate to our country because of financial advantages? what does it say about them? they were willing to leave their own country for financial gain, they will not be very loyal... the moment some other country allows them more financial gain, they're gone...

  btw, another sign of the coming collapse of the US economy - Citigroup CEO is probably going to resign over the sub-prime fiasco...
  
  there is a credit crunch and the Fed there is dropping interest rates in order to stimulate spending...
  
  thing is.. spending... that's all the US has been doing..
  
  the US debt at this time is US$9,083,720,877,067.99
  
  or divided by the population of the US at 303,438,532
  
  so each citizen's share of this debt is $29,935.95
  
  the debt increases at about US$1.4 billion a day...
  
  factor that the dependence on oil which closed at US$93 per barrel last week...
  
  i see doom not so far away..

  The USD has been free falling
  Oh well we shall see what happens
  OF course they are losing money
  Their people and $ have all been pumped into that war against terror

  all a matter of perception. I'll admit i don't feel overwhelming patriotism for the country. I'm good as long as its well run and good for me to live in. I don't feel its a big deal for them to ahve to change the leaders or the name or maybe merge. as long as the country's and the pple's interest arebeing considered well. not like just because the coutnry has sovereignty the rulers will be deciding for hte good of others.

  and if people do not step up and defend their country, they will have no home...

  if you act for your ideals, you are still acting on your interest in those ideals.
  
  you could go on and think of yourself as acting for something other than yourself if it makes you happy and try to convince yourself that you have a sense of belonging and love. It will all be fake and you will know it, but you coul try convincing yourself you will be happy
