I still love music from the '80's! Brings back memories of when I was teen, gawky and wholesome.

the 80s were more than just UK synth-pop and the New Romantics.. in the US, there were rock bands.. none were bigger than Guns N' Roses then.. their Appetite for Destruction album had to be the greatest debut album of all time.. it spawned a slew of classics, which are still amazing 20 years later!
Their arena rocker:

After these, came the excesses which caused them to fire their drummer, Steven Adler. He was replaced by Matt Sorum of The Cult.
Shortly after Use Your Illusion was released, guitarist Izzy Stradlin left and was replaced by Gilby Clarke.
The band disintegrated after releasing an album of their influences, The Spaghetti Incident.
Now, the world awaits Axl Rose's incarnation of GN'R with Chinese Democracy which has been delayed for close to a decade. The other members have gone their own way, with Stradlin having limited success with his Juju Hounds. Slash played guitars for many others including Michael Jackson. He's also had limited success with his own band, Slash's Snakepit but is now with a band some termed "Stone Temple Roses" as Slash, Sorum and McKagan are with Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland and guitarist Dave Krushner is now Velvet Revolver. Their album 'Contraband' is highly recommended. -

Nowhere Fast - Fire Inc.
she is kidnapped by the local street gang, the Bombers which is terrifying the town.. headed by Raven (Willem Dafoe) a real hardcase..
lady calls her brother, an ex-soldier, Tom Cody (Michael Pare), who was Ellen's old flame to come home.. convinces him to go rescue her.. but she's now 'shacked up' with her new manager, Billy Fish (Rick Moranis)
he says he'll go in for $10,000 and along the way, another ex-soldier McCoy (Amy Madigan) tags along.. they go deep into the Bowery which is the Bombers' territory and snatches Ellen.. while running off, the group hijacks the bus of The Sorels, a singing group whose lead singer, Bird (Stoney Jackson) is dragged along on the chase and becomes the next big thing to Billy Fish...
Ellen and Tom are torn.. they are in love but circumstances which tore them apart are still there.. Ellen tells Tom that they can run away but he goes back after slugging Ellen out, leaving her in the care of McCoy while he takes care of unfinished business..
a climatic fight later between Cody and Raven, the Bombers are beaten and leaves the townsfolk alone...
The Sorels make good as Billy Fish now manages them..
