oh.. like dat. if that is the case, then buying beer when they come over is cheaper then buying beer when u are out. plus it is a form of "bonding" between the guys (aka your SO's life in office would be easier). I think that is a cost that is justifiableOriginally posted by elindra:Coz they are his technicians and SO is generous so he tends to buy the beer as a treat
I totally agree with you. While it's cheap to eat at the hawker centre, you eventually get sick of eating the same type of food all the time.Originally posted by elindra:Same
The problem is that as much as I'm singaporean
The food don't really appeal to me
I'm usually restricted to eating:
Chicken Rice
Duck Rice
Wanton Mee
Soysauce Chicken Noodles
When I'm in the mood I can cook like 1kg of pasta at one go and eat it for 2 daysOriginally posted by honeymouse:If you like pasta, it's not hard to cook your own at home you know. You can always freeze the left-over and have it for lunch or dinner the next day.
I did think about it tooOriginally posted by the_don:oh.. like dat. if that is the case, then buying beer when they come over is cheaper then buying beer when u are out. plus it is a form of "bonding" between the guys (aka your SO's life in office would be easier). And we tend to buy more "exotic" stuff too
Ooooo you have a fish tank too What fishes you guys rearing
Err...wait, maybe I got the weight wrong. Need to go home and check the packaging. I meant cook 2 packs of the raw pasta. How heavy is the standard size packing?Originally posted by honeymouse:1kg of pasta in 2 days??

go to a lan shopOriginally posted by elindra:I did think about it too
But usually I scoot out of the house when they come over coz that means I have to help entertain and can't play WoW anyway
And it bores me to tears
I'm surprised your puffer didn't attempt to eat your tetras but maybe the tetras are way too fast for the pufferOriginally posted by the_don:heehee "exotic" is good stuff
we have a fish tank. we HAD fishes .
TX bought a small fish tank for Christmas 04 pressie. It was beautiful landscaped by the shop (think pebbled soil, real plants, huge pump, lights, etc). In it was 10 neon tetras
I din know about the tank till we got home. He opened the door and the light from the tank shone in the darkness. It was so pretty! He bought it cos i mentioned I wanted to keep neon tetras . a few week later we added a dwarf puffer (our fav cos he is so cute!)
Due to a series of unfortunated, our neon tetras have either commited sucide or died a natural death. Our puffer has also gone to puffer heaven
that is 1K in totalOriginally posted by av98m:Err...wait, maybe I got the weight wrong. Need to go home and check the packaging. I meant cook 2 packs of the raw pasta. How heavy is the standard size packing?
Hee hee... don't worry if you do have 1kg of pasta if you enjoy it and you are generally a big eater. I just find pasta very filling for me....Originally posted by av98m:Err...wait, maybe I got the weight wrong. Need to go home and check the packaging. I meant cook 2 packs of the raw pasta. a fren opened a lan shop today. TX says it has plush seats and very cosy deco/lighting
We had pasta for dinner last night too. Just a simple one - bolognase sauce (minced beef, brown onion and tomate paste) on pasta.Originally posted by the_don:pasta was dinner for TX & I yesterday
Cost of beef, pasta & fresh mushrooms : $7
Cost of warm hearty meal cooked with love : Priceless
*nods hard*Originally posted by honeymouse:One thing I find annoying when I was in Singapore is that the restaurants don't display the actual cost of the food, it's always with the ++ at the end. I find it rather deceiving as they try to make it look like it's a good deal but by the time you add up the taxes and service charge it's no longer a good deal. Also, you can't estimate how much cash you need to have if you are planning to pay by cash .
What do you think? Sorry, getting a little bit sidetrack here.
We had pasta too but it was at the coffeeshop downstairs Stall is run by this young couple tooOriginally posted by honeymouse:We had pasta for dinner last night too. Just a simple one - bolognase sauce (minced beef, brown onion and tomate paste) on pasta.
I agree with "Cost of warm hearty meal cooked with love : Priceless". How we usually do it every night is my hubby helps me with the preparation (chopping garlic, cleaning vegies) and I will do the cooking. Works out well.
I think if both of us work, it's nothing wrong to share the housework including the cooking too.
so did you bbq the stingrays after they died? with sambal chilliOriginally posted by elindra:I'm surprised your puffer didn't attempt to eat your tetras but maybe the tetras are way too fast for the puffer
I had stingrays (really SO's) till they died from pump failure.
He wanted to buy more but I refused coz they are damn expensive to rear and water needs to be pristine so lots of work. But they were soooo cute.
I have a turtle in my tank now and other tank house my frogs
Yes, it's nice, healthy and simple to prepare.Originally posted by elindra:We had pasta too but it was at the coffeeshop downstairs Stall is run by this young couple too
I love their fish & chips too
Seems that for people our age it seems that pasta is the way to go at home
Erhmm if you kept something as your pet, you will have the heart to eat it?Originally posted by hisoka:so did you bbq the stingrays after they died? with sambal chilli

Seriously I dispose them as quickly as I can before SO got home coz they are his precious babies.
He was super heart-pain coz we had them when they were only about 4 inches in disc width and we got them up to 8 inches
We were even talking about upgrading the tank so that they can grow bigger and more space for them to swim.
Now I need to convince my SO why my turtle needs a bigger tank
my tetras commited sucide due to stress from puffer chasing them and biting their tailOriginally posted by elindra:I'm surprised your puffer didn't attempt to eat your tetras but maybe the tetras are way too fast for the puffer
