You're married???? You don't look married.

  Seriously guys, is there a "I'm married" look and a "I'm not married" look.
  
  I'm wondering because I'm always getting that comment from people and they always look so surprised to learn that I'm married.
  
  And they always end the sentance with," But you don't look like you're married."
  
  I mean I wear my wedding band but I guess it doesn't matter these days because people don't really care where they wear their rings. I get this from working colleagues that don't know him that well and also from suppliers etc
  
  So, question is there a thing called a 'married' or 'unmarried' look

  means you still upkeep your looks and figure?? its a complement. that you or to them you look/seem to have a very low chance of getting married. pick one you like

  hahahah i get tt ALL THE TIME.... and i suspect its pretty much because....

  hurhurhur.... and often its those.. demure, sweet, ladylike people who will exclaim that... and I will ask point blank "why?? look like the type can't get married issit?" then see them sheepishly explain.. 'No laa no laa.. u look very young maaaaa"
  
  Its really funny.. cos it takes them unawares.. see their face change heehee
  I dont really know how they expect me to respond?!
  
  and so I commiserate abt this with my this friend in her early 30s who complains abt people who is forever asking her.. "why you dont have boyfrieeeennd???? your standard too high issssiiiit?? you sure have a lot of guys chase one maaaa" (her response.. 'walao dont have means dont have lah.') and she is saying.. WHY IS IT HER FAULT she is currently not attached!?! Why must there be a PROBLEM to be not attached one?! Can't it be fate not yet come?

  sounds to me like they're trying to chat you up and when you tell them you're married they're disappointed... their hopes are dashed and they don't know what to say.

  which brings an interesting issue I was overhearing yesterday to light...
  
  Without going into the specifics of the conversation, basically the story goes:
  
  A lady was introduced to a guy friend by another friend. This guy asked the lady out. She agreed, met him for a single date, but mentioned on the date she has a boyfriend. Later on, the friend who introduced them mentioned to the guy that she is getting married soon and the guy was very angry that she did not mention it. Her reason was that she see no reason why she should broadcast that she is getting married soon.
  
  So the issue goes:
  
  1. How soon into a 'friendship' with the opp sex would you mention that you are married if you are?
  
  2. Does it mean that after marriage you are not entitled to male friends?
  
  3. However, if you suspect that a guy is interested in you, and you are not interested in the guy BUT will like to be friends - at what point do you tell him that you are married?

  I guess the guy thought that his guyfriend is introducing a gf to him that was why he got angry.
  
  1. Usually I will say that I'm married upfront to prevent any misunderstandings and unwanted attention.
  
  2. I think I have more male friends than female friends
  
  3. At the beginning. Doesn't mean that I can't make friends with the opposite sex. If he can't accept that then too bad coz that only shows how narrow-minded he is.

  well unless you want to take advantage of the guy i would say if you think hes interested please tell him earlier always good to avoid misunderstandings and not waste his effort, time and money.
  
  if you were the kind of girl that wants to enjoy such stuff and take advantage of pple then don't say i guess
