  I think it's ok to start small and safe. If do too big and take too many risks esp. for first time, incur loss v jialat.

  Yeah the civil service clubhouses have cheap room rates.
  
  If book a private area (or whole) cafe or restaurant & do buffet, cuts cost dramatically.
