interestingly, I had found out from the principal of my son's school that what is needed with children nowadays is the father-figure. Most school volunteers are the mummies.
95% of my teachers in the SS are parents and yes, I think they have been pretty effective in dealing with the children.
Children are really smart nowadays. I have to fight the "personality cult" issue whereby some children choose to come only when certain teachers are teaching. Also, the older kids ask hard questions, and with the amount of media these kids have to deal with, I had one session dealing with Dan Brown's books. Here we are talking about the 12 years old.
Nonetheless, God have always been blessing the Sunday School. The growth had been tremendous to a point that all my classes are bursting at the seams due to small rooms.
