SPCA & The Wine Company Pte Ltd invite you to a lazy Sunday afternoon tasting of select Australian wines
Come enjoy wine, sausages, cheese, crudités, and gourmet mini-pizzas in a convivial, relaxed atmosphere. Limited to 45 people, this cosy setting will allow you to savour your wine, discuss wines with the Wine Company staff, and peruse their wine library surrounding you.
Specializing in very affordable “emerging markets” wines, we continue
the second in our series of single-region wine-tastings with Western Australia.
Here are the wines to be tasted:
#1 BlackWood Fishbone Semillon Chenin Blanc 2002
Brilliant pale straw colour with a tinge of green. A
good intensive nose with passion fruit and grapefruit
dominating. A clean crisp mouth feel with moderate
palate intensity. The passion fruit on the nose
carries through the palate, while zingy acid carries
throughout (Alc. 12.5%.).
#2 BlackWood Fishbone Cabernet Shiraz 2001
A brick red coloured Shiraz with a moderate nose
intensity. Has hints of violets, and plum overtones.
Good mouth feel, clean and long, with chocolate and
coffee flavours leading to chewy finish (Alc. 14.0%).
#3 Rivendell Cabernet Merlot 2001
A smooth, soft red style, with good intensity of
flavour. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10%
Cabernet Franc. This wine was matured for 12 months in
French barriques (Alc 13.5% ).
#4 Scotts Brook Cabernet Sauvignon 2000
A rich, beautifully balanced wine with blackberry and
almond characters as well as hints of dark chocolate
and mint. A stunning wine which thoroughly deserves
the GOLD medal the wine won at the 2002 Australian
Small Winemakers Show (Alc. 14.5).
#5 BlackWood Verdelho 2001
A true late harvest wine from handpicked fruit grown
in Australia's South West, this 2001 Verdelho exhibits
all the intense and luscious sweet fruit
characteristics typical of this style. This is matched
with a fine mouth watering acidity giving the wine a
lingering finish (Alc .10.2%).

I think the word "also" implies that part/all the proceeds from the ticket sales goes to SPCA. -

well, not sure how much is moderate. And since it's not part of my staple diet, such give it a miss for the sake of baby beanie -
