Not a Christian event, but just helping to promote it.
Yellow Ribbon ProjectThe Yellow Ribbon Project seeks to help ex-offenders who take responsibility for their own actions and are trying their best to persevere and earn back the trust from their family, friends, colleagues and the community. The Yellow Ribbon Project engages the community to offer second chances to ex-offenders who sincerely want to change.
Some Events HappeningWear-A-Yellow-Ribbon ActivityThe activity seeks to mobilise the community, through the help of CARE Network, aftercare agencies, the Home Team, VWOs and community partners, employers, religious organisations, schools and grassroots organisations, to wear the yellow ribbon during the week from
2 – 9 Oct. Wearing the Yellow Ribbon symbolically displays the community’s support and acceptance towards ex-offenders and their families. Yellow Ribbons would continue to be worn throughout the year at rehab-related events.
Yellow ribbons packs at $1 each will be distributed and proceeds will go towards the Yellow Ribbon Fund, to be set up to fund aftercare programmes as well as prisoners' family and children support programmes.
