Just making some publicity for this meaningful community project.
[b]One Deed, One Lifetime
"One Deed, One Lifetime" (ODOL) is a community project by Channel NewsAsia which aims to inspire Singaporeans to do that one good deed in this lifetime. In a world that increasingly sends out the me-first message, ODOL hopes to restore faith in the basic good of humankind and affirm the good in all of us. The goal of ODOL is to be the platform for the perpetuation of goodness, beginning with the individual.
What is a good deed you may ask? It's anything that has a positive impact on another individual, in particular something which he or she cannot do for himself or herself, better yet something which he or she had not even expected. But it has to be done for an individual rather than an organisation.
It can be something as simple as a smile, or something as extravagant as a huge amount of money donated. It can be something as concrete as giving a liver or something as nebulous as providing a listening ear.
The only limit is in your heart and mind.

CNA's website says when you do a good deed for someone, you're supposed to pass the card to that someone and then that person does a good deed for another person and passes on the card....
Beats me.Originally posted by wuming78:hm... wats the purpose? they supposed to sign on the card?!

singaporeans so bo liao meh?Originally posted by MooKu:There's nothing to fill up on the card.
It simply bears the pink flower logo, and behind the card it tells you what to do with the card! and that's to do a good deed for someone, and pass the card on to that particular someone so that he or she can pass it on and so on!
It's "bo liao"? Why?Originally posted by NeonTetra:singaporeans so bo liao meh?
ppl nowadays so paranoid..u pass her one card he/she thot u up to no good...Originally posted by MooKu:It's "bo liao"? Why?
Hmmm I beg to differ... It's just a card given, clearly, with good intentions... I don't know why anyone would want to think in such a way.Originally posted by NeonTetra:ppl nowadays so paranoid..u pass her one card he/she thot u up to no good...
ok.. let's hope u wont stop helping ppl after passing ur card away.Originally posted by MooKu:Hmmm I beg to differ... It's just a card given, clearly, with good intentions... I don't know why anyone would want to think in such a way.
Maybe it's a little unnecessary lar, to have a card just to spur people on to go around doing good. But come to think of it, it's pretty comforting when I think of how many times my card's going to be passed on from me. And I'm going to do something that's really going to HELP someone.
I hope so too.Originally posted by wuming78:ok.. let's hope u wont stop helping ppl after passing ur card away.
