Did you have to wait long for an appointment at the polyclinic?
Sighhhhhh actually I choose not to mention about the ordeal but since u ask might as well lah.....
On Wed morning at about 11.00am. I went to the Polyclinic wanting to see a dentist. Went straight to the pre-registration and told them I wanted to see a dentist. They send me for the 2nd round of registration where I got my queue no. Was asked to go to the 2nd floor and wait outside rm 28. Waited for 1hr 45mins and I ended up seeing a doctor instead. Told the doc my problem and she couldn't help me for obvious reasons. It was 1pm by then and the dentist have all gone for lunch and I didn't have the patient to wait for another hour. So I got the doctor to write me a referral letter for NDC (National Dental Clinic) just in case I may need an ops instead.
Went to NDC yesterday (Thur) and waited for about half an hour. The dentist came and only saw me for less then 5mins. He said that mine was a straight forward extraction and he could do it right away if I wanted. I said no, let's wait another day coz I have a dinner appt. So I made an apptment to go back all the way to NDC at Outram today. After I step out of NDC yesterday, I thought to myself that since it is going to be just an extraction I could have done it at TPY Polyclinic instead if I have managed to see a dentist on Wed itself. So I called TPY Polyclinic and get them to fix an appt for me in the morning to see if I could get it extracted there and then. I was right, the dentist did the extraction in less then 20mins.
Sorry for the long story but its not over yet........
I paid $8 for consultation on Wed when I ended up seeing a doctor instead of a dentist. Not sure why that was for coz there was not much of a consultation done. Paid another $18 for consultation at NDC yesterday. And today when I went for the extraction they charged me another $12 for consultation. I was so mad that even with the pain in my mouth I went ahead and confronted the Clinic Ops Mgr. After reasoning out she decided to give me a refund for the initial $8 that I have paid for. I dun think its a matter of money here lor but rather principle. Why should I be paying for something or service that was not rendered.
The End!
